blowing bubbles

i took this one last week after i was inspired by hilary's long post. we were playing outside, and brody showed me how to blow bubbles! we've been blowing bubbles for quite some time, but this is the first time he's actually done it in front of me. he was so proud!

after playing outside for a while we headed indoors to bake some cookies. i think i must've picked out the stiffest cookie dough recipe ever. he could barely stir the batter, but he didn't care! he loves standing on the stool and pouring the ingredients into the bowl. then he mixes it all up. it's funny how young you can see his personality. i'm a little freaked out by how it looks like he has quite a bit of erik & my personality in him . . . the organized, systematic part of our personality, that is. when we were baking, we'd pour in a new ingredient, stir it up, and then push away the bowl while i poured the next ingredient. (if i had left the bowl in front of brody we wouldn't have had any cookies to bake!) one time i forgot to push the bowl away so he did it for me!

he's also becoming quite the little mischevious, determined salesperson. his latest way to get what he wants is to point to it, say what he wants and nod his head really BIG. he does it with the cutest expression on his face as if you could ever say no to it. it's so funny how he's just convinced that you'll say "yes." i'd say he's getting quite the fun personality!
