three months old!

happy three months baby girl! we cannot believe how quickly emersyn is growing. once again i'm sorting thru her closet and putting away clothes that are too small for her to wear anymore. i will admit that i'm guilty of trying to squeeze her into this or that outfit just one more time. already momma's having a tough time letting this sweet baby grow up! so you ask: will there be another? i don't think so! as much as i hate seeing her grow up, i don't think this body can take another pregnancy. plus, we definitely wouldn't want to chance a baby that doesn't sleep. we have two wonderful sleepers . . . what fool would risk that?! we don't have another doctor's appointment until she turns 4 months old, but my guess is that emersyn is about 13lbs and 22 inches. she smiles when she wants to and particularly when you make eye contact with her. she watches brody do EVERYTHING. if he's in the room it's hard to get her attention away from him. if you lay her on the floor she just kicks and kicks and waves her arms. she loves to lay on the floor (on her back . . . not a fan of tummy time right now), and she loves to kick her playmat to get the overhead lights and sounds going. explaining to brody why emersyn is allowed to kick and he isn't has been a challenge!
i went back to work this week, and erik's been doing great with both kids, taking care of the house and cooking dinner! he is my sanity so that when i get home from work, i can play with brody and emersyn, take care of baths and stories and sew after they go to sleep. we're all settling into the new routine quite nicely.
i can see that brody is becoming older every day. yesterday were two milestones . . . i had an amazingly clear telephone conversation with him. WOW! all of a sudden he's quite the talker. it's cool and wild to see my baby boy growing up so quickly. the other thing he did was bring george (stuffed animal) to me because george's diaper needed changed, and he needed burped. wow! does the environment directly effect kids or what?!
