yup . . . it was a turtle walking down the middle of our street last week. erik saw it, and he picked it up with a shovel (he didn't want the turtle to pee on him!) to bring it into our yard for brody. i was lucky enough to work from home that day and get to experience it with brody and erik. i think erik and i were more intrigued by it than brody was. he was outside so he wanted to hit some golf balls! oh, no, sounds like the beginning of mom and dad planning trips that we think the kids will enjoy only to have ourselves get more out of it than they did . . . remember williamsburg mom and dad?! all i remember is that it was really hot and nothing was air conditioned! you tried to give us a great historical experience, and we just wanted to go to the mall!!

a turtle?!

ask erik if he remembers the battlefield at vicksburg--my attempt at imparting historical perspective. have to admit that ted was on the kids' side!
i can't believe E was scared of a little turtle pee! just kidding. i remember lots of stuff that we should have taken advantage more then we did.
