helping dad

as seems to happen with two-year-olds brody wants to do everything that we're doing . . . well, naturally he says "no" first, and then changes his mind. this past weekend he helped me with a ton of chores! he just kept going and going! that doesn't count all of the times he runs to get a toy, diaper, bottle, etc. for me when i need it. as much as he loves helping me in the house he equally loves helping dad in the yard. i would guess that given the choice he'd run outside to help in the yard over dusting the house! here's what they were up to one day while i was at work and emersyn was napping.

we are hoping to bottle up all of this enthusiasm for chores and bring it back out in a few years when he sticks to the "no!" and don't worry, we play too! after a saturday morning helping momma with chores i took him to the pool. i wish i would've had the camera. he was chasing after some of the older kids and taking to the water more than he has lately. then he made friends with a few three year olds at the sprinklers, and he started running thru the sprinkers with them . . .laughing and laughing and laughing . . . while i'm on the bottling-kick . . . baby & toddler laughter would be an awesome thing to bottle!
