lots of fun july fourth with a parade, new friends and hamburgers to follow. we found a fantastic parking spot so that we only had to walk about a block. then we found a great place under a big tree to set up camp and wait for the parade to start. we went with nick's family and his cousins' family. there were seven kids under the age of five!
emersyn had a nice breeze thru her carrier and was able to take a nap. isn't she pretty in cousin reese's july fourth dress!
as with many things that aren't as much fun until you have kids, the parade had never been so much fun to me. this year was different. we stayed back, and the kids sat on the curb waving to the floats and chasing the candy, beads and balls that the floats threw to them. the oldest girl, summer, has a brother brody's age so she knew just what to do with brody! she helped him collect some extra candy, shared her beads with him and showed him around. it was so funny!
