happy halloween!

you've been asking for the halloween pictures, and here they are! what a fun weekend we had! we did some pumpkin carving . . . no really good pictures from it so i skipped them. as you can imagine emersyn loved getting her hands dirty and jumped right in. brody was much more hesitant, but he thought it was cool once dad gave him a tool to scrape the gooey guts out of the pumpkin. i wish i would've taken a picture of the finished product. i had every intention to do so. and that picture would've fit perfectly right HERE :)

sunday was a little crazy because brody was so hyped about wearing his costume and going trick or treating. emersyn was not as excited about putting on her costume, and i really wasn't sure it was going to happen. after picking her up and putting her here and there the result is a pretty decent picture of the two of them. one thing that they don't tell you in the parent handbook is how tough it is to capture a picture where both kids are looking their best, looking at you, smiling, etc!




as soon as the sun started to set the neighborhood was bursting with people out trick or treating. we met up with the burrattis and had a fun trip around the neighborhood. brody was really into it, and i think he would've gone up to every single door in the neighborhood had we kept going. emersyn was a little hesitant at first, but a few doors into it she started enjoying the experience. i think she liked meeting the people more than the candy treats, and i had a really hard time getting her away from a family with a little dog that she just loved. "puppy" is one of her favorite words, and she says it with a lilt on the "y" which is really cute.

here are two characters! nick was captain hook and his sister, ellie, was tinkerbell. emily crafted their wagon into a pirate ship, and she did such an awesome job. she claims it was all without any sewing . . . just a bunch of trips to good will, some hot glue and a bunch of creativity.

these two have been mistaken for sisters. they're only a month apart and with similar little chubby cheeks and bellies and their blond hair and blue eyes i think it would be hard for a stranger not to ask if they were related.
