it seems that any trip to mimi and grandpa's is non-stop grandchild focused activities with mimi and grandpa. this allows erik and i to rest, watch TV, hang out and pretty much do whatever we want to do. it makes us understand why people with nannies could be prone to having more kids. with brody and emersyn any activity becomes an event. . . getting the mail, filling the bird feeders, looking at christmas lights . . . it's the beauty and wonderment of three and five year olds. i'm going to miss these days when they get older and are not so easily entertained. the beauty, wonder and grace in the world is easily evident when looking thru the lense of a child.
after jill's shower there were vegetables to pick from mimi's garden. emersyn picked green beans. it's good to keep her away from the tomatoes lest she eat them all before they make it inside! i heard a story from mimi that while mimi was watering plants one day emersyn was picking tomatoes, rinsing them under the water hose and eating them like candy. this girl loves tomatoes!
