t-ball time

we've entered a new era in our lives . . . team sports.  we're having a ball (no pun intended) cheering on brody's t-ball team, the astros.  i took these pictures at the opening tournament a few weeks ago.  as his mom i'm definitely biased, andi think he's doing an awesome job!  he plays pitcher, 1st and shortstop.
does every 6 year old have this strained picture smile?!  to his credit this was after multiple takes where emersyn jumped in front of the camera at the last minute.  it's all a boy can do to take a nice picture.  "grin and bear it" seems an appropriate phrase here.

the astros warming up before the game.  you've just never seen anything so cute as a bunch of 5 and 6 year old boys so serious in their baseball uniforms.

waiting patiently for the game as the boys warm up.
these boys hustle out there, but there is much levity as a temper tantrum ensues, a parent is called out of the stands for a potty run or boys are spotted wrestling in the outfield.

SUCCESS!

brody was playing pitcher, grabbed the ball and ran it to home plate.  OUT!
hayden looking on intensely.

a great hit!

Don't they look official in those uniforms. Yes, we remember Brody's dad's t-ball team and all the antics that go on. We had stargazers, song singers, and hole diggers. Did he tell you about the time he stopped the game because he lost a tooth? The game came to a complete halt while we searched. Alas, the tooth was never found.
