five m&ms

i never realized the power or beauty of just 5 little m&ms. that's how many brody is allowed a time. he picks them out and lines them up just perfectly. in fact, he is already such a detail-oriented person (notice i didn't say "perfectionist"), that he must have all of the pictures facing up. if one if facing down, he says "upside down," and he flips it over so that it's right-side up. i'm trying to call him detail-oriented instead of perfectionist this day after reading the Birth Order Book. although i realize that i should take the reading with a grain of salt, i also know how frustrating it can be to be a perfectionist. now, i'm making a concious effort to realize that my son is 2, not 22, and his attention span and detail-orientation are that of a 2yr old. if something isn't perfect, and it isn't hurting anyone, it's just fine with me. the fine print: just keep in mind, if you see me correct him on something, i'm still learning at this too!
