happy halloween

It was a motley crew that took to the streets on Monday night in search of candy. Two Spy kids, Woody, Maverick, Batman and a 1920s Flapper, parents, grandparents, friends and dogs.



Putting this costume on Emersyn took me back to recital days. We worked on some 1920s dance moves, and she had some moves of her own too.



Batman insisted on a mask and boots. He soon decided that the mask was too much, and the boots gave him a headache . . . ummm . . . ok . . . we'll go with that. Unbeknownst to me (bad momma) Emersyn is still munching on her dinner in this pic.



Around the corner we visited Pirate Cal who just turned one a few weeks ago, his momma witch and his awesome pirate ship. This is the home of the infamous Dave who Brody LOVES to visit.



One more shot of the Spy Kids, and their amazingly creative homemade costumes. Who thinks to make a jet pack out of old water bottles? That's awesome!

Every year our neighbors put together this great haunted house. I've never been inside, but this year the under three crowd of Emersyn, Ellie and Cayson all journeyed thru it while the older kids waited outside. No nightmares to report from them, but I suspect this will be the only year they go for a while.



The homeowners do an amazing job with lights, sound and costume. They were open on Sunday and Monday nights, and Mom and I went by on Sunday night. There were cars lined up and down the street to venture thru he unexpected on Sunday night. Monday was a little calmer with only the locals out to visit.



Halloween was lots of fun again this year, and Brody is already planning his costume for next year. He's somewhere between Spiderman and Spy Kids. I'll keep you posted ;)
